Installing full fenders/mudguards#

Considering the weather forecast for tomorrow, I’ve decided to install the full fenders again on the synapse.

It has been a while since the last time I used them (IIRC 2020) and when I picked up the little plastic bag where I stored screws and small parts, I noticed that several metal pieces and screws were completely rusted :-(

Luckily I had enough spares, so I didn’t have to use the rusted ones.

Note

These are SKS Chromoplastics mudguards, model from 2017 or 2018 (it seems they have been replaced with some other name models). They are light, long - so they cover a lot - and they fit perfectly with my Cannondale Synapse hidden eyelets and bridges.

Installing this SKS full fenders is easy (the hardest part is to install them for the first time, cutting the metal stays, etc) and all I needed was a bit of time, the bike stand and some basic tools (allen keys).

Once they were in place, I tested everything was ok (no rubbing parts, etc).

Sadly, I won’t be able to do a test ride before the Brevet tomorrow, breaking one of those sacred rules, never go to a Brevet with untested gear.

Well, this is not really untested gear, as I’ve used them in the past… right??
