Another week off the bike#
This week has been tough, getting more and more complicated as days passed by.
First my daughters were home, as school time ended the previous week (on the 22nd of June). This always means a change in habits and time availability at home, both for my wife and me. I knew I’d have even less time than usual to split between work and training, but I was more or less ready to deal with that.
But then the virus came.
On Tuesday, Lara (my older daughter) started to feel strange and by early evening she developed some high fever. Soon I followed her (luckily, my wife and Emma, our younger daughter, didn’t seem to be affected by it).
What came next was a combination of fever, sore throat, a lump in my throat, strong headaches, slepless nights and an overall sensation of feeling like shit.
It wasn’t COVID (or so the tests said) but whatever it was, it brought me down for a week (and both of us are still recovering).
Hopefully it has passed now and I’ll be back on the bike soon.
